Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Highlands
our safari begins in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Arusha. After a short safari briefing, drive toward Tarangire National Park, one of northern Tanzania’s most distinctive wildlife areas.
Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population, ancient baobab trees and seasonal wildlife concentrations around the Tarangire River. Upon entering the park, begin your game drive through open grasslands, woodland and riverine areas. Keep your eyes open for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impalas and other wildlife. Depending on the season and recent rainfall, you may also encounter predators such as lions and cheetahs.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. Your guide will choose the best areas to explore based on wildlife movements, seasonal conditions and your interests.
In the late afternoon, leave Tarangire and continue toward the Ngorongoro Highlands, arriving in the Karatu area for dinner and your overnight stay.
